Here we will bring you all the latest news from the Netball World Youth Cup 2025 Qualifiers Africa, which will be taking place from the 17th-23rd March, in South Africa. Seven teams will be competing in the competition with the top three at the conclusion of the event then being invited by World Netball to compete at the Netball World Youth Cup 2025 in Gibraltar.

DAILY WRAP-UP
DAY 7
Day 7 was the final day of the competition, with the league standings determined the Final and Playoff classification matches.
First up, Namibia took on Kenya in the 5th/6th classification match, and it was Kenya that came out on top, with their second win in two days.
The performance showed just how much this Kenya side had improved throughout the week.
Next up was the 3rd/4th classification match, and in this one a spot at the Netball World Youth Cup 2025 (NWYC2025) was available, as the top three teams from each Regional Qualifier will be invited by World Netball to compete in the NWYC2025.
It was a close encounter between Zimbabwe and Zambia with lots on the line, but it was Zambia that eventually got over the line with a 41- 43 victory.
Finally, the undefeated South Africa took on 2nd place Malawi.
Due to finishing in the top two, both of these teams will be invited by World Netball to compete at the NWYC2025, however this game was all about bragging rights, and it was South Africa that secured them winning 45 – 26 in front of their home crowd.
DAY 6
Day 6 saw some more close contests with Malawi beating Zimbabwe by just one goal and Zambia beating Namibia by just four.
The Malawi Queen’s victory meant that they finished day 6 in second position, booking their place in tomorrow’s final against South Africa, who remain unbeaten.
The final game on Day 6 was Kenya vs Tanzania, and both of these sides were still searching for their first victory.
It was Kenya that came out on top this time winning 44 – 25.
DAY 5
Day 5 was an exciting day for Kenya as they picked up their first point of the competition when they drew with Namibia.
Kenya looked as if they were going to take their first win, but a final 15 minute comeback from Namibia ensured the points were shared as the teams drew 44 all.
It was a tough day for Namibia as they also took on the undefeated South Africa, who they lost to 61 – 25.
The closest to South Africa is Malawi and they recorded their 4th win from five, this time beating Zambia 35 – 54.
This means at the end of Day 5 South Africa still sit top, with Malawi in 2nd place and Zimbabwe in 3rd.
DAY 4
There were just three matches on Wednesday, as the day started with Tanzania taking on Zimbabwe.
The two teams went into this match in very different positions, Tanzania were still searching for their first points, whilst Zimbabwe entered Day 4 with two wins, having lost to Namibia by just 1 the day before.
The result went the way we would expect with with Zimbabwe beating Tanzania 17 – 62.
Zambia took their second win as they were two strong for Kenya and South Africa continued their winning ways as they beat Malawi 44 – 19.
DAY 3
Day 3 started with the unbeaten, South Africa, taking on Kenya, who were still searching for their first win.
From the first whistle it was clear which side had the confidence from previous results, with South Africa scoring 19 goals in just the first quarter compared to Kenya’s three.
The baby SPAR Proteas went on to win the match 37-7.
Despite the defeat, Kenya later took to court for a second time on day three, and bounced back tremendously coming the closest they have yet to a victory when they missed out to Malawi 39 – 42.
The only other team that came into day 3 without a victory was Tanzania, however despite their improved performance, also against Malawi, it still wasn’t to be with the young Malawi Queens winning 64-24.
The final match of the day was a nail biter, with Zimbabwe taking on Namibia. The match went down to the final whistle with Namibia managing to snatch the win by one.
The result means both teams have now won two matches each in the competition.
DAY 2
Day two of the Netball World Youth Cup 2025 Qualifier Africa saw Namibia and Zambia secure their first wins.
Namibia came into day two having lost to Malawi in their opening match, but it was clear from the off in their second match, against Tanzania, that they were not going to let that happen again.
The Namibian Desert Jewels were dominant from the first whistle and clinical in the shooting circle, as they beat Tanzania 55 – 17.
Zambia had to wait slightly longer for the first win, as they played twice on day two first losing to Zimbabwe, 37- 42, before then beating Tanzania 15-52 in the final match of the day.
Meanwhile, South Africa continued to fly beating Zimbabwe 29-62, making it three from three for the hosts.
The results from day 2 mean that Tanzania and Kenya are now the only teams left without victories.
DAY 1
The Netball World Youth Cup 2025 Qualifiers Africa got underway yesterday, with the hosts South Africa taking two dominant wins, Kenya running Zimbabwe close, and Malawi beating Namibia.
With three spots at the NWYC2025 in Gibraltar up for grabs, the day started with South Africa taking on Tanzania and the young SPAR Proteas did not disappoint as they came flying out the blocks eventually putting 75 goals past Tanzania as they dominated all four quarters.
Next up, was the turn of Zimbabwe and Kenya to take to court in what turned out to be a very close encounter.
The two teams were neck and neck throughout the 60 minutes, with Zimbabwe’s young Gems working hard to take a 10-goal win.
Malawi also got off to winning ways when they beat Namibia 48-23.
Finally, South Africa closed out the day with another 70-goal tally, putting 72 goals past Zambia in the final match of day one.
